One of the Havre de Grace Green Team’s primary passions is continuing  education in the responsible use of our natural resources, both locally and abroad. The HdG Green Team will always seek to provide the how, what, why and where to find facts and information on green initiatives in our fair city of Havre de Grace, Harford County, Maryland, USA.

Doing the pandemic our Environmental Film Series has moved online!  So far we have offered three titles streamed:  A Fierce Green Fire: The Battle for A Living Planet, Racing to Zero: In Pursuit of Zero Waste, and The Antibiotics Hunters.  All these films help to explain complex issues around stewardship of our natural world and its human health implications, waste reduction and food scraps composting, and the challenges of finding antibiotics candidates in ecologies damaged by humans habitation.

Next up is Inside the Megafire (2019).  Until this year, the 2018 wildfire season was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire season in California history.  Scientists work to determine the cause for the increasing mega fire threat by exploring the physics of fire, how firestorms move and travel, and by analyzing aerial drone and satellite date to catch fires before they start.
